Impromptu Kabuki Butterflies.

ReSearch & Destory: Sixth

Paper Butterflies.

Cut the previous piece and created another butterfly to accompany the other. The chalice has been made into confetti. Both are in preparation for the next piece...

ReSearch & Destory: Fifth

Cut and Paste.

Cut up my origami flower. Used the red setting to make a butterfly that perches on the lip of a chalice, a symbol of water.

ReSearch & Destory: Fourth

Origami.

Folded the previous paintings into a hex star. Shaped them into a flower and also added a setting.

ReSearch & Destory: Third

Burned away the previous piece as a reveal. Underneath is a painting of a Porsche 911. These were also done with the ash-pigmented paint.

ReSearch & Destory: Second Destruction

Mixed Media.

Burned my previous piece and used the ashes as pigment for paint. Combined with permanent marker, I painted on flash paper.

ReSearch & Destory: First Destruction

Dried Apple Sculpture.

Dried the apple sculpture in an oven. Became wrinkled and "cliff-faced." Reminded me very much of the shrunken heads I had seen on Ripley's as a child. Decided against painting and added hair with thread and torn denim fabric.

ReSearch & Destory: Apple Sculpture

Carved Apple.

Plan on drying the apple; the hollow insides aid in drying. Then, either charring the surface and adding more fruit pieces for another sculpture, or spraying with matte fixative to prepare for painting.

Patterns

Acrylic on stretched canvas. 18" X 25"

Free choice incorporating pattern. I decided to add symbolism. My second 'real' acrylic painting. Learned how to properly blend. Unification needed work.
